Cabriere on Simon and Baker Travel Review

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

There is a very nice video of the Cabriére Sabrage on the Simon and Baker Travel Review site. You’ll see that in this video the person in charge of this specific display of sabrage is non other that Hildegard von Arnim (Takuan’s mother).

So if you’d like to see how Sabrage is really done, and find out about some of the history surrounding it, pay the Simon and Baker Travel Review site a visit.

2010 on the Haute Cabriere Blog

Monday, January 18th, 2010

2009 was a good year for Haute Cabriere and hopefully, because we continue to produce wine you enjoy drinking and sharing, 2010 will be just as good.

This year we will be tweaking our approach to blogging. We will still utilise video format (so you’ll have your Takuan fix) but we will now also include more written content.

The written content will focus on the Cabriere wines and Pierre Jourdan Méthode Cap Classiques, our customers, the events we attend, our Franschhoek Restaurant, Franschhoek and more. While the video content will continue to focus on Takuan, his passion for wine, Haute Cabriere and life in the wine industry.

We look forward to seeing you, at the farm or in the Haute Cabriere Online Store, and hearing from you on this blog throughout 2010.

Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival 2

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

The second installment in our classic video revival is Achim’s Pierre Jourdan Blanc de Blancs tasting video. This should definitely get you and your palate in the mood for the Franschhoek Champagne Festival this coming weekend. We hope you’re getting excited … because we can hardly contain our glee!

Platter 2010

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

The John Platter 2010 wine reviews have been released and the Pierre Jourdan range of Méthode Cap Classique received four separate 4 stars.

Which means that, according to Platter 2010, four of the Pierre Jourdan cap classiques are excellent. Obviously that’s not entirely true … all of the Pierre Jourdan cap classiques are excellent. But you’ll see that for yourself when you pull into the Franschhoek Champagne Festival on the first weekend of December.

It’s time for a glass Pierre Jourdan

Monday, September 7th, 2009

We’re all tired of waiting for the rain to stop so, to help melt away those remaining winter blues, we suggest you dose yourself with one champagne glass measure of Pierre Jourdan.

After years of scientific research conducted by Takuan, and some of the other people in the office, we’re happy to announce that Pierre Jourdan makes that dreary winter feeling simply disappear. Apparently it’s a combination of the amazing taste, the bubbles and … oh wait we’ve already mentioned the amazing taste. Yes the Franschhoek Cap Classique - Pierre Jourdan - is at it again. Restoring smiles to the rain soaked Cape one glass at a time.

Thank you Pierre Jourdan, without you our lives would be significantly less fun and perhaps a little more sober. Boo.
