I don’t think most people realise just how close the last Franschhoek fire came to Haute Cabrière. Below are some post Franschhoek Fire images.

The fire moved from this part of the Franschhoek Valley to the Cabriere section - thats a long way to travel.

The upper Cabriere vines and the blackened Franschhoek Mountain. The brown pieces, dotted through the vineyard, are because the fire jumped with the wind. We were incredibly lucky not to lose the whole block.

Valetine’s Day in almost here!

Valentine’s Day 2010 is almost here. In fact it’s only 4 days away so there is still time for you to pick up the best Valentine’s Day gift ever. There simple isn’t anything that says “I love you” more than Belle Rose and Belgium Chocolate. Thank goodness we had the foresight to combine the two in our 2010 Cabrière Valentine’s Day Gifts.

Not only have we been busy with harvest and busy preparing for Valentine’s Day, we’ve also been busy battling the Franschhoek Fire.

It really has been quite a week.
