Freshly Ground are Fans

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

The Freshly Ground lead singer recently declared herself a huge fan of Haute Cabrière. We think this is great because, as luck would have it, we are also big fans of Freshly Ground.

They were out to visit us, just before the World Cup, with Top Billing so you might have caught something about it on TV? It was a wonderful day filled with fun, laughter, the very best views in Franschhoek, Pierre Jourdan and - of course - sabrage.

Franschhoek Bastille 2010 Feedback

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

I think that my brother Tamo, our Cape Town Haute Cabriere ambassador, summed-up this past Bastille festival best … ”it was wild, it was fun and it was the most celebratory Franschhoek Bastille Festival ever! There were moments when I felt as if I was back in France in Springtime. Add to that the feeling of celebrating Madiba’s birthday and it was an experience impossible to beat!”

In fact over the weakend we enjoyed terrific Pierre Jourdan sales and, as one friend remarked, it looked like every Bastille visitor had a bottle of Pierre Jourdan in her / his hand.

If you were drinking Pierre Jourdan or Haute Cabriere this Bastille thank you for your support. If not, never fear, there is always next year!

What to do this public holiday?

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Well there is snow on the mountains surrounding Franschhoek, excellent Franschhoek wine and Cap Classique tasting in the Haute Cabriere Tasting Room and delicious food being prepared by the Haute Cabriere Restaurant.

We suggest you head out to Franschhoek and make a day of it. We’ll see you tomorrow!

Snow on the Franschhoek Mountains

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

There is the most beautiful snow covering the mountains surrouding Franschhoek! Apparently the maximum temperature we’re likely to see today is 11 degrees. Which is significantly warmer than yesterday when we experienced a maximum temperature of 8 degrees!

This is excellent weather for our sleeping vines and, I suppose, if you have crackling fire and a bottle of Haute Cabriere Pinot Noir it’s also excellent weather for you! If, however, you don’t have that bottle of Haute Cabriere Pinot Noir you can order it from our online Wine Store. This means that you don’t have to leave the comfort, or warmth, of your home to restock your wine stash.

December in Franschhoek

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Take a trip out to the Franschhoek Valley this December and come and spend some time with us.

Stock up on your bubbly for the festive season and New Year. A case of Pierre Jourdan Belle Rose is the ultimate party accessory and if you can’t get out to Franschhoek you can always order it online from the Cabriere store. Which means you never have to leave the comfort of your own home. Wonderful!

If you’re looking for that something special, for that someone special, why not pick up one of our gift packs. They’re so good looking you won’t even have to wrap them. Plus they’re filled with Pierre Jourdan and Haute Cabriere goodness and, as we’ve seen with our continued success this year, everyone is a fan.

Join us for one of our acclaimed Saturday Tastings - the wine tasting experience that simply puts all others to shame - and follow that with a spot of lunch. Yum!

Haute Cabriere, our Franschhoek Restaurant, is sublime. If you stay for lunch and/or dinner we strongly suggest that you try the mussels and the lamb. They’re both out of this world. Completely mindblowing!

See you Franschhoek, or online, over the next few weeks!

Christmas Present for Wine Lovers

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

It’s shocking to think that Christmas is just around the corner. 2009 has disappeared in the blink of an eye and, once again, it’s time to start hunting for those perfect Christmas presents.

At Haute Cabriere we’ve decided to make your life a whole lot easier. Yes we’re just lovely that way.

For the wine lover we have our Haute Cabriere gift packs that are made up of one amazing carry case and two bottles of Pierre Jourdan cap classique or two bottles of Haute Cabriere wine.

So this holiday season give your loved ones the gift that’s going to earn you maximum brownie points, give them two bottles of Pierre Jourdan or Haute Cabriere.  Because nothing says I love you quite like something from Cabriere.

Haute Cabriere Saturday Tasting

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Every Saturday we treat guests to the ultimate in wine theatre. All Saturday Wine Tasting visitors are whisked away on the intimate journey through our history, approach and wine philosophy.

We use our famed French cavalry sabre (it’s very swish) to open bottle after bottle of Pierre Jourdan Cap Classique.

If you’re looking for something new and exciting to do in the winelands then the Haute Cabriere Saturday Tasting experience is definitely for you. Besides it’s not everyday you get to watch someone as dapper as Takuan handle a sabre.

It’s all very dramatic and a whole lot more fun than traditional wine tasting.

Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival

Friday, December 4th, 2009

Tonight is the start of the 2009 Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival. It’s going to be a weekend filled with amazing local cap classique - most notably Pierre Jourdan - French Champagne and fabulous Franschhoek cuisine.

The only place worth being this weekend is in Franschhoek. Not heading out to take part in this festival would mistake - one you regret until the 2010 Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival rolls around next year. Life is too short for regrets … come on join the fun, you know you want to.
