We’re running a delicious restaurant special at the moment:
Enjoy a two course meal for only R120 per person and three course meal for only R150 per person. This special is available Monday - Friday and it runs until the 12th of June 2010.
If you’re heading out to join us for lunch on Mother’s Day (tomorrow) you’re in luck because we will be offering a glass of or Pierre Jourdan Tranquille to all ladies on Mother’s day. Fantastic!
We will also be giving a red rose to anyone who buys a bottle of Pierre Jourdan Belle Rose this Sunday. Yes we know we’re our wine and cap classique is amazing enough without the rose … so the rose just makes it impossible to beat.
Sunday - the 9th of May 2010 - is Mother’s Day and you’d better not forget it!
Lets face it Mums are important, they’re like superheroes without the spandex, and they deserve at least one day a year dedicated to them.
It’s important that Mother’s Day is not a last minute thing, there needs to be a bit of planning. Luckily we’ve made it very easy. You’ll find a plan below that is guaranteed to cement your favourite child status for at least a year.
The Fool Proof Haute Cabriere 2010 Mother’s Day Plan:
Step 1: Call Haute Cabriere and make a lunch booking for Sunday - the number is +27 21 876 3688
Step 2: Drive to Franschhoek (it would be nice if you drove your Mum, but that’s up to you).
We hope you’re all enjoying this glorious public holiday? Franschhoek, at this time of year, is simply breathtaking! It definitely feels like a Pierre Jourdan kind of day … definitely a bottle over a glass day.
Yup if you’re visiting us today we hope you brought along that designated driver. If not you could always try check into one of our fabulous local hotels. We believe that one of them, a certain Le Quartier Français, had their flagship restaurant (The Tasting Room) place 31st in the 2010 World top 50 Restaurants last night. Congratulations Le Quartier Français we’re very proud of your achievement!
If you’re still looking for something to do, on this beautiful mid-week holiday, then we suggest you head out to the Franschhoek winelands and join us for some wine tasting and lunch.
If you’re already on your way we can’t wait to see you!
We hope that you, your family and your friends have a very happy Easter! If you’re going away for the long weekend please travel safely. If you’re running the Two Oceans good luck and if you’re heading out to Franschhoek remember to pop in for some wine tasting, a spot of lunch or a relaxed dinner.
If you can’t get out to us - because you’re too stiff after the marathon - you can always have us come to you. Visit our online store and order yourself a case of Pierre Jourdan or Haute Cabriere. It’ll be delivered to your door and all you’ll need to do is pop it into the fridge.
Not a bad way to spend an extra long weekend.
Normal blogging will resume on Wednesday the 7th of April 2010.
We’ve noticed a significant increase in the number of cyclists on the road in the last week. It must be all those people getting in some last minute 2010 Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour training. It’s going to be a very busy weekend in Cape Town and the surrounding winelands.

If you’re cycling the Argus, or loyally supporting someone who is cycling the Argus, you should pop out to Franschhoek and join us at Haute Cabriere for some wine tasting or a spot of lunch or dinner.
Good luck cyclists (and supporters)! We’ll be thinking of you, and your time in the saddle while we sip on some Belle Rose. It’s a tough life but someone has to do it.
Oh and if you see Lance (Armstrong) please remind him that we have Pierre Jourdan with his name on it.
I don’t think most people realise just how close the last Franschhoek fire came to Haute Cabrière. Below are some post Franschhoek Fire images.
The fire moved from this part of the Franschhoek Valley to the Cabriere section - that's a long way to travel.
The upper Cabriere vines and the blackened Franschhoek Mountain. The brown pieces, dotted through the vineyard, are because the fire jumped with the wind. We were incredibly lucky not to lose the whole block.
Takuan stands on the road between the highest lying Cabriere vineyard and the blackened Franschhoek Mountain. It really was incredibly close!
Valentine’s Day may be over (we hope you enjoyed your Belle Rose and Belgium Chocolate) but that doesn’t mean that you should stop showing your significant other that you care. One day, out of 364, just isn’t enough!
Over a lovely lunch with Takuan, where we explored the new menu items at our Franschhoek Restaurant Haute Cabrière, we were introduced to his opinions on love and Pinot Noir. Luckily we caught it on camera which means you can enjoy it too.
If you’re viewing this through our Facebook fan page, and the video isn’t behaving, you’ll find on YouTube by clicking here.
If you’re interested in what’s happening at Cabrière at the moment then this video clip is for you.
Takuan - back from his recent lunch adventure at Haute Cabrière Restaurant - shows us what the Cabrière Chardonnay grapes are looking like, he talks about where they could potentially be used and then he explains (simply) how the weather is going to affect the 2010 harvest.
